Hotel pays application cost and sends payment slip to the Green Leaf Foundation via Email

The Green Leaf Foundation will send a copy of receipt via Email and then send by post for reference document.

Questionnaire process

The green leaf foundation will send 3 documents to the hotel, which the hotel must do and return to the green leaf foundation.

Step 1 Qualifying Stage or Sustainable Management System (SMS) keyboard_arrow_up keyboard_arrow_down
The qualifying stage is the step which a hotel sustainability management manual or what we call a Sustainable management system guideline must be prepared. It must have complete elements according to the information and examples set by the foundation. This step must be prepared. All hotels must be passed this first step.

The composition of a hotel's sustainability management manual must include general hotel information, a section that outlines the hotel's vision, goals, and a plan of sustainability-related activities that the hotel will pursue.
Session 1 is demonstrating effective sustainability management;
Session 2 is bringing the highest economic and social benefits to the community that will cause the least impact;
Session 3 It is about creating the highest benefit and having the least impact on arts and culture, and finally Session 4 , it is about creating the maximum benefit but having the least impact on the environment.
Grading stage will be a questionary or a stage that must be done. There will be 17 sessions and a total of 384 questions, which will be the level at which green leaves are measured. All hotels must be passed qualifying stage and screening stage as primarily inquiry.

Questionnaire processes are well prepared, and sent back to Green Leaf Foundation. The audit process will be proceeded.

Awarded to the hotel just beginning to think about and carry out activities to conserve energy and reduce their environmental impact. This state called “Beginner” .
Awarded to the hotel that has prepared a plan and established a group to oversee energy use and environmental problems at the hotel and that has prohibited or reduced activities that may damage the environment as well as begun implementing measures to increase resource use efficiency.
Awarded to the hotel where an environmental ethos is practiced by all personnel and in every aspect of service in the hotel. Though there may be a lack of unison and teamwork in some aspects, there is still a plan, a direction, and the promotion of roles and participation of personnel in every area to fulfill their duties as well as work together to follow the plan prepared. Also, a good relation with the local community is encouraged at every opportunity.
Awarded to the hotel that pays attention to and is strict in working to create a policy that is turned into concrete practice, with attentiveness and participation in pushing forward activities to conserve energy and the environment, from the owners, the management, personnel and their families. Importance is placed on inviting consumers and suppliers to participate in the hotel’s environmental activities.
Awarded to the hotel that prepares good information on its resource use and its environmental stewardship with an emphasis on prevention of environmental problems at the onset. This can be done by increasing standards and regulations regarding the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for the hotel. This is done in accordance with the list measuring usage of resources as well as energy continuously to be useful in effective management. The hotel shows leadership in efficient resource use and environment stewardship among hotels in the same region and has creative programs to conserve energy and protect the environment that serve as examples for other hotels.
